Well sort of touring

Andy and myself had 3 days up in Moffat for no other reason than we fancied it

Things i have learned from 720 miles in 3 days ( no great shakes i know)

The Hyper is a great touring bike as long as you keep off motorways as they become tiresome at over 80 without a screen

The fuel range is not as bad as i thought as i was comfortably managing at least 12o miles between fill ups and even then only getting 12 litres into the 16 L tank

Luggage space is very limited, I used a Kriega US20 and a tank bag and packed light which is good as it really makes you think about what you actually need to take

It was comfy and rapid

I have had a ball on it

At Portpatrick

Great photos , I agree unless you are in the RT brigade , anything over 250 miles is hard work on a semi naked.

I have similar experience with my Superduke, although my knees ache before I need to fuel up; oh the joys of getting older

I've just bought a Hyperstrada, so has the screen but motorways are still horrible. It's the dirty air caused by the other vehicles that buffets you around, however, on a nice clear A road with clean air it's a different story, even over a ton.
Luving the bike though, and that sound when you pin it over 4k - OMG! And thank you Redrick for you positive posts on here about your bike, reading then swayed the balance to make me hit the button

That is good to hear

I was considering buying the strada screen for touring as i have the little carbon thing which although quite effective at deflecting wind when on normal roads is useless on motorways above 85 so i pretty much avoid motorways and stick to 85 or below which is still illegal speed !

One of the reasons i defected to the hyper from the XR was to keep my speed below a ton so mission accomplished on that front but i am actually finding that the Hyper is actually quicker cross country ( not as comfy obviously) whilst keeping speed sensible. I put that down to the corner entry speed it carries and fires out without the need to spool up the turbine 4 cylinders

Touring on one of these will not be anywhere near as luxurious as a big BMW but oh the fun on the B roads

Its a great bike for touring on

Strap some Kriega stuff on and away you go and when you get to your destination you have the best bike in the world for hooning on
