Aug 22, 2017 #5 The K1 FD will raise the revs by about 500rpm in top gear... not really worth it IMHO. I considered this option, but then after more mileage on the bike, I accepted the gearing. Basically, it likes to rev, and is smoother higher up the range.

My problem is I have a R100GS and a K1100LT. On the K I'm always looking for an extra gear but as DN says you do get used to it if you don't ride anything else in the meantime.

The K gets mixed in with an old Softail (no tacho to worry about). This rolls on a seemingly closed throttle while doing 60mph The two couldn't be more different
