Calais ,reims ,Vosges , Black Forest , lindau ,austria for the glossgockner weather permitting and then on to you're destination simples .no charge :D

thank you for that any ideas on accomadation ? cheap and cheerful ? as i want to keep cost down to a minimum

If going on you're own just get the booking.com app on you're phone about mid afternoon have a look on you're map where you might get by say 6pm type town into
App and away you go ,cheap single room may set you back 40-50 £ .
Have a good trip. Ps. Someone will be along shortly to tell you that this thread is in the wrong section :thumb2

No need to rush it, give your self a week to get there and back and it opens up to see and ride lots more. We did it last year and here is the report. SimonW gave me a route which I followed through the Alps and Dolomites. PM me with email address and I will send you the gpx files which you can open in TYRE to adjust to your requirement. In the mean time here is the Google maps routes that I worked on to get a rough idea of what the mileages and twisty roads would work out as.

A straight there and back for the return I would head via the Stelvio and a few passes in Switzerland, Southern Vosges and a run back to Calais. I wouldn't miss the Dolomites going down there. The James Bond Movie Quantum of Solace was shot on the eastern shore of Lake Garda, Malcesine Verona, if you fancy having a look. Goldfinger has a scene shot on the Furka Pass, just saying.

Pm replied to. Forgot to add, if you don't like serpentine gnarly roads then don't use the Pisa to Genoa and Genoa to Borgo San Dalmazzo route. It is shit for riding but you get to see the other side of Italy. Genoa is a dump anyway in my opinion.

much apreciated and thanks for that i will let you know how the trip goes .....

Prehaps he will tell us, after you have given him help on routes to the Mugello trip...
He may conbine the two.....

Do you think that I haven’t? Maybe he will but he’s taken his time so far in this thread. Interestingly enough, post #5 above did perhaps go someway to answering the question about the Black Forest to Calais from the Mugello thread. Maybe he’s forgotten about it?

Do you have have any suggestions for Calais > Mugello > Calais (including the Stelvio and the Black Forest)?
