There is a first Airhead Event next July near Lincoln, being organised via the online BMW Airhead Fellowship. I will cut and paste the website info below. Hopefully this is OK to do moderator? The event will raise money for charity (if indeed it makes a profit)? You do not have to be a member to attend.

THE DATE - JULY 13, 14 &15 2018. THE VENUE - RISEHOLME COLLEGE, LINCOLN, ENGLAND

THE EVENT - 'THE AIRHEAD EVENT' - THE LARGEST GATHERING OF VINTAGE AND CLASSIC BIKES PLUS RIDERS EVER HELD IN THE U.K.

This isn't just a Rally; it isn't just a Show: it's an Event - The Airhead Event. And it will be unmissable for anyone who appreciates the older, air-cooled bikes that established BMW's reputation for quality engineering, superb design and long-legged performance.

If you like Rallies, then you'll like this event, with rides outs, socialising, quizzes and prizes

If you like Bike Shows then you'll like this event, with the largest display of vintage and classic BMW's ever - plus the usual vendors and trade stands.

Maybe you hate those but want to learn more about your airheads and how they've been used. Then you'll love this event, for there will be continuous activities to please you - Technical demonstrations and talks will always be available, with the likes of Steve Scriminger, Bob Porecha and Ian Brocklebank already signed up to share their considerable knowledge. There will be presentations on a variety of topics - from tyres to oils to batteries. There will be Airhead Celebrities of the calibre of Hans Muth and Elspeth Beard to regail you with their experience and knowledge. All these are already committed - many more are in the pipeline. Insurance permitting you'll even be able to experience the pleasures of riding pre-1969 and pre-war BMW's around the private grounds of the college.

Such an event has never been held in the U.K. before and surely never will be again. It's a one-off and not to be missed. Put the dates in your diary now and be sure to share in this unique Airhead experience.

Admission prices are still being calculated but I am hoping to keep this to £25 for the weekend.

Other Prices::
B & B £41.00
Lunch + Tea or Coffee £9.00
2 Course Evening Meal + Tea or Coffee £20.00

Food and accommodation prices above are at cost. If we make any profit on admission prices then this will be donated to the Air Ambulance.

Booking - opening soon, so keep returning to this page:

At the moment camping is not an option, but the question has been raised. Will update if the situation changes. I have been told there is a campsite about 2 miles away.

If anyone does intend to attend, add to the tread, it will give the organisers some idea of numbers.

Many thanks.

Yes indeed, Peter has put a lot of work in. The latest quote I have is:
"10 speakers booked so far, including Hans Muth and Elspeth Beard. There will be lots of time to mix with like-minded souls, lots of Tech Talk and demonstrations, rides out, formal and informal events, Motorworks and other specialist vendors plus anything else I can think of between then and now."
The price has been fixed at £35 for all three days. Currently booking has opened for Airhead members. Not sure when it will open for none members, but will update here when it is.
It has been confirmed there will be no camping on site, but camper vans and motorhomes can park up, though no hookups are available. There will be a canteen and bar on site.

There’s a campsite at Langworth, just down the road.

I’m reading Elsbeth Beard’s book at the moment - phenomenal achievement at a time when women were still mainly tied to the kitchen sink (we may do well to remember that that state of affairs was not too long ago in this country). No back up, no 6 other friends to help her along - looking forward to hearing her speak.
