eBay - your new user agreemenr wef 21 Sept 2017

Just a heads up guys. I don't usually pay much attention to user agreements, but this time it's different.

Essentially, from now on all "illicit" contact between bidders and sellers is prohibited.

No more contact by the provision of direct email addresses or telephone numbers to bypass the eBay system in your sale or purchase, with penalties for those who get caught.

    How wonderful.

Yep chasing fees seems to be their new game plan though how one is supposed to arrange a collection if you cant pass details is beyond my ken.
    Caution : May stop suddenly

    Been like that for months
Idiots have even blocked it in classified ads in motors - fucking idiots.
This is despite their customer services stating it’s not the case - it’s atill blocks numbers and emails automatically as it monitors message content!
Had it on the listing for my X-Trail - got warnings when trying to arrange viewings/rest drives

Either spell the word DOT on email addresses or spell some of the phone numbers in the message.
As you say how do you arrange a meeting or persona call.

Can’t get round it that way either as they have software checking every message.

Legally required as a BUSINESS SELLER
As a PRIVATE seller you either have to have your PERSONAL info there or be blocked by their system.

That as may be - but it makes a mockery of their agreement.

What am I supposed to do when people turn up asking for a chain - Tell them to FO? I don't think so .....

    Whats the problem?

Surely any business would want to safeguard their income.
If it was you, and someone saw fit to avoid paying expected fees or expenses wouldn't you take measures to safeguard them?

I see your point, but it does present certain difficulties for non-business users.
