Scala rider freecom 1... volume issue

Might be me , new to this new fangled technology... how can this thing work without wires .... anyway it does work and after days of fitting it ... yes really days ... I've got it paired to my iPhone and music is playing ... all good .... BUT .. when I turn the volume up ... it decides to reduce it to lower level .... now thinking this wasn't right I went back to shop and they exchanged it ... still the same ...

Battery is fully charged in both phone and thingymejig.... I've also tried on a different phone and iPad ....

Any suggestions or is this progress ... suppose it stops me blasting my ears out !!

Sounds to me like the automatic gain control technology (AGC)
If its silent, it will reduce volume. When background noise is detected it increases. I had to play with this when i got mine. You have three settings, High, normal and low. I wanted more volume, so set it to high, But it was too much. I reverted back to normal.
