Cleaning the bike yesterday after the Belgian fuck up and noticed some lateral play in the rear sprocket

By lateral play i mean a couple of mm side to side so to speak

Checked all the bolts and they are as tight as a Yorkshireman in the pub

Rang the dealer just to make sure that such play was not a normal thing for a Ducati, single sided swingers etc as the carrier system on the Hyper is not one i have ever had before

Instructions from the dealer were do not ride it and get it back here ring Ducati assist !

I have and they were excellent on the phone and promised collection in 60 to 90 minutes

Its no big deal to me and if it wasn't pissing down i may well have ridden it to the dealers :D

It's probably because you didn't get out of third gear !

If its any consolation when I used Ducati assist , Bologna sent me a really sweet Ducati watch for my inconvenience :)

I take back everything I said about Ducati assist
60-90 minutes turned into a little over 6 hours !

If i had been at the side of the road i would have been in a taxi and the bike would be in a ditch and belonging to Ducati

Still looks good even on the back of an AA truck

Poor effort from the AA, if they are the official agent for Ducati assist they could at least have a red trailer they must get plenty of stranded dukes to justify it :D

For anyone interested the failed part

Just Rubber bushes highlighted on the pic that have failed at 5500 miles

Surprisingly or not Ducati have never seen these fail before

And before Nofuck tiger chips in this is not my chain !

Don’t buy the “ never seen this fault before “ nonsense Rick.
Had that said to me a couple of times by Ducati for warped disks and a failed ignition unit...
Still brilliant bikes though despite the foibles

6 hours.....that's a fooking disgrace.....and not what one might expect from said manufacturer selling expensive machines.....:(
