Africa Twin farkles list

Looks an awful lot of holes in the bracket to collect mud and road grime considering its designed for only one bike

This is someone else photo with it fitted. It's not ideal, but it's the only option out there where you don't need to butcher both parts of the rear carrier. Im not going to use the numberplate bracket, I've ordered some number plate bolt lights and will make an bracket with a steeper angle, so it looks better and keeps a bit more mud off me when rooster tailing it though mud...

I've also got some gloss black paint for plastic, so I can spray the exposed parts of the rear tail light (the red bits)

Here’s a few pic shows of today’s screen support installation. It’s not really difficult, just awkward with the bottom two bolts which you need a pair of angled/bent needle nose pliers for. I pulled the rubber light surrounds away from the area, not taking them off completely to aid access for those two lower bolts. I also used lock-tight on those as well just to be safe. I put a wee dab of superglue in each of the plastic nut covers to keep them in place.

I have to say that the quality and fit is superb. The bracket doesn’t touch the clocks but is so close and neat it actually looks like a factory part IMO.

Pics aren’t in order....why does the site always switch them about after loading them ?!!!!

It looks very robust,is this to alleviate pressure on the screen mounts Davy?

Yes, it’s a very neat unobtrusive solution compared to the others I’ve seen that are available, plus it’s a bargain compared to the competition too. I’m shooting myself in the foot in the sale of my TT handlebar mount tho’. :blast

tail = tidied.

Fixed.....:aidan

Honestly... I now have a new R1200RS that comes with a stock rear end that looks like crochrocket's mod'd AT.... no fender whatsoever! It throws crap up into the rear of the bike, rear shock and spring, and on the back of my jacket. WTF.... Now I need to buy an aftermarket fender or hugger...

I like the look of that (from what I see) but that's where it stops...like the look. It would not be at all practical for me (pure road rider). Either my wife as pillion or me would get covered in road crap after many ride outs. I don't get it ?

The rear rack stops any crap flying over the back seat or me. It's from Rugged Roads, but I decided to change a few things. Wasn’t keen on the shape of the exposed rear light, so I masked and spray painted the odd looking parts black. I ditched the plate bracket that came with it and made another set a steeper angle. This also meant I could ditch the stock plate light and move the plate tighter up to the bike. I used some bolt type lights in the flat part of the tail tidy so they point down and don’t annoy people behind.
