OK, not all are applicable to our new DCT owners, but I thought I'd do a list of what has been added to my Africa Twin for those who are now thinking about spending some £££'s on their new steeds. In no particular order.......

TT handlebar GPS mounting bar

SW-Motech q/r GPS mount

Red alloy brake cylinder caps

Rubber flap extension which goes down past the rear linkage to help keep crud off it

I've also got the Honda panniers, although they aren't in the same league as the BMW Varios, but so far they've been water tight and do me fine. I use a Givi topbox as the Honda one (which I did have) isn't the best size/shape wise.

I do have a medium TT screen on order which hasn't arrived too quickly.

That's about all, I think.

Dunno.....I just swopped them over, had to bend the connection tabs tho'. Other than that, a straight swop and such a difference to the oe pipsqueek.

Just a rubber car mat cut to size and held on with two plastic number plate nut/bolts.

I fitted something similar to my gs to protect the centre strand however when moving at speed it flapped against the tyre and burnt a hole through the flap

It will and has worn up from the bottom edge, but it seems to have stopped going any further and has been on the bike for at least 8k miles now. There's plenty of mat left to replace if needs be. ;)

Well off-road tyres are a pain in the ass for the Africa Twin.

I'd decided on buying Michelin Anakee 3 tyres which get great reviews. However they only do the size for front wheel, not the back wheel. Rumours said it was due to be released Summer 2017. But nothing yet.

Then decided to get Continental TKC 80's but lots of comments how the front traction is great off-road but crap on road especially in wet. Rear tyres wear fast also.

So the I turned to the Metzeler Karoo 3. This tyre gets good reviews in all conditions but can be a bit noisy on road. BMW off-road school use them. Honda off-road school use them. But they are a tubeless tyre!...

So head spinning, I ordered the Metzeler Karoo 3 tubeless tyres, and will fit the tubes inside... if its good enough for Honda off-road. Good enough for me.

Amendment to above

Amendment to above, I meant to say

"I'd decided on buying Michelin Anakee Wild 3 tyres which get great reviews"

I have them on the GS they are a tad noisy but give good grip on the road

The Michelin Anakee Wild 3 Tyres ?? I can't get them for the Africa Twin, don't have the right rear wheel sizes.

I've decided to go with the Metzeler Karoo 3 tyres instead
