Does the GS have a rev limiter and if so at what rpm does it kick in

Only reason i ask, i was giving it some legs on the way home, and in 2nd it hit 6k and just

stopped, almost like hitting a wall. cogged up to third and carried on but backed off before 6k

and all was ok ...

Found a quiet bit of road and tried again it does rev past 6k in third,

I know according to the RPM gauge red line is 8-9K so i naturally assumed it was accross all gears.

If there is a limiter in place in the lower gears, can it be adjusted using a GS911?

Rev limit on a 07 should be 7750rpm (I think) it should rev up to that in the lower gears......... fairly easily.

Hard revving mine is no benefit and feels brutal. So I don’t do it. As you say the rev limiter is like hitting a wall so another reason to not bother.

It is interesting to see where max power is made, from a dyno, and how high up the rev range it is.

From memory mine was about 7100.

If i want to make it go, short (ish) shifting up to 3rd. then give it the full beans does the trick.
Mine flies when i rev it out. Does it good now and then :)

Mine is just under 8k, only hit the limiter in 2nd a few times on local M27 sliproad. Best avoided for mechanical sympathy.
