Guys, any suggestions please ?
I've got an Interfone F5MC fitted in my lid.
In order to deliver directions to someone I'm training, I want to bluetooth my F5MC with a trainee unit that will just use an earpiece, with the receiver in the trainee's pocket or in a strap-on pouch.
I want to do this at a realistic cost and as it's only occasional use, I'm not considering Interide or similar at present. I think bluetooth would give me the range I need, as far as I can establish.

I'm thinking I could buy a cheap-ish unit such as this one from Amazon and adapt the headset cable to take a plug in
earpiece for the trainee - it would be receive only.

Reviews of the item indicate it will pair with any regular bluetooth device, does not need to be the same make.

Any thoughts on this ? Or other suggestions ?

I recently purchased a number of these for the observers in our IAM group. The performance and the feedback has been very positive

Those observers with a bluetooth device already fitted tend to use one to give to the associate, pairing the device with their own equipment has proved to be straightforward. Those with no BT equipment have two of the devices and they obviously use one themselves and give one to the associate

In all cases the clarity is very good, the range (mainly line of sight) is very good and the comms is effective up to about 60-65 mph

We bought D shaped earpieces form Intaride for use by the associate - they listen only and don't have the facility to talk back (although the equipment would allow that)
