Thought I’d just start a thread only for the 2018 African Twin Adventure Sport.

Please only use this thread for anything about the 2018 ATAS only, so it’s easy to find the relevant info. I know some of this info is in other threads, but it’s been mixed up with AT model stuff and it would be nice to have all the ATAS stuff in one place.

Price for ATAS

Dct ATAS £13549

Manual ATAS £12599

Just popped into my local Honda dealer and was told Launch is in March and bikes will be available in after that.

If shipping the bike by air, will the lithium battery have restrictions that you would have to purchase a new one after entry into a new country or is the space suitable for fitting a standard battery? Flight restrictions on batteries are forever changing, even the old samsung galaxy phone was banned. If only Flyer was still here, he could have answered my query.

I don't know about that but there will be quite a few customers putting their trust Optimate on and frying the battery I'd imagine.

It still has the same battery compartment from what I understand, so I’d guess you’d just buy a lead battery if you were shipping by air.

Jus a few net pics for the thread.

Are those 2 sets of extra wind deflectors available already for the standard Africa Twin ?

You would have to buy and retro fit as the standard doesn't have the fixing points, easy to do tho .

As far as I can tell, you won’t be able to fit them to the standard AT, it doesn’t have the 2 screws either side of the screen.

It takes 5-10 mins to take the side fairing off, buy the deflectors, drill the holes and fit, I will be fitting some to mine when there available.

As Ding Dong suggests the translucent one could be fitted , I wonder if the other set could be , hard to tell from the photos how the others fit. I would really like one of these Adventure Sports , the new paint scheme is really lighting my fire and the fact that it comes with quite a bit of extra kit I'd want to fit as standard ( like the Engine bars, heated grips , and bigger bash plate ) , I also prefer the neater rear rack arrangement to the one on the standard AT with its larger grab rails like on my Crosstourer. I'm struggling with the price though as Far more than I've ever spent on a bike , I also love the look of the Turban and I can pick up an as new X version with under 750 miles in the clock for around £9500 saving me £4K on the price of the AT. The Turban will have less whether protection , feel much more lively power wise but I'm not sure how much less comfortable it will be which is important to me.

Tried to get a test ride of the Turban at my local dealer but they've sold the demo pre winter so will have to wait until spring .

The others are black formed rubber, stuck on with double sided tape, I’m guessing they should fit the standard AT’s.

You can buy slightly smaller version from honda for the present AT, I have them on mine and they are stuck on with tape and do make a difference.
