Hello all,

I'm looking at replacing the front headlight assembly (as original has a badly burned out reflector). New one from BMW almost £300, but have found this on eBay, and LED replacement that appears to have CE certification.

Has anyone fitted one of these (or can recommend another?) in the UK and can vouch for it? Do they pass MOT?

I can find some old threads with different lights, and some US threads on a different forum, but all seem quiet lately.

Thanks!

Thanks Andi - have been looking at those as well, but some other threads suggest the European/Italian sourced CEV units have the reflector pattern pointed the wrong way for the UK, whilst the newer Hellas units that BMW now suppky are symmetrical.

Did you notice anything on yours?

No issues with the unit I had and I dont think it was directional for the UK roads, you could always PM the seller and ask.

Thanks Andi. I'll see if any comments come back about the LED unit...if not, will likely go for one of those with a cyclops conversion.

Loadmaster, you've just done the normal beam? On sport touring they offer a high and low beam kit specifically for the 800GS, but I only really want the low beam - did you just buy the single H7 conversion?

bobbsy, I only got the cyclops H7 4000 lumens LED kit for my GS as I rarely use the main. I believe the main beam kit is a bit more involved to fit. I may be wrong but the kit for the F650GS & F800GS are the same......check.

I got one of these for my 08 800GS to replace the cheap HID kit. They are plenty bright enough and the dip/high beam is straight up and down. Recommended, particularly at the price.
