Hi,
When I purchased my 1100gs some 6 years ago it came with the genuine BMW black plastic panniers.
I took them off the bike shortly after I got it and have never used them since.
About 3 years ago I had a slow speed accident and did some minor but expensive damage to the bike. The repairs were carried out on the insurance and I've continued using it with no issues.
This weekend I decided to refit the panniers only to find that the LH side doesn't fit.
The rear footrest bracket pannier locating lug appears to be some 10mm too close to the pannier itself and so won't allow it to drop down on to the mounting rail alongside the seat.
The aluminium footrest bracket was replaced after the accident with a new item.
Could this be wrong. There is a number cast in it which is 314763.
The BMW parts list gives the number 314762? Does anyone know if there is a difference? I realise that the machines rear frame could be bent but on close visual inspection it looks OK.
Any help appreciated
