Is there a thread on emissions stuff removal? I took all this gubbins off the 990 and fitted blanking plates. Maybe the same kit would fit? That said I think i accessed the ecu and switched it off in there too.

Planning to do it on the 1090, I have heard all you need to do is blank off both hoses going into the canister and take the nut out of the drain cable that hangs down the side of the bike...

..although you can also buy special kits / remove all the hoses and other gubbins, but I figured by just blocking off the hoses it is only a 5 minute job to return to stock later, I only want the space and not too bothered about saving a few extra ounces with full removal.

thats how I've done mine

Sat Nav - I use a BMW Nav 6, which IMO is a bag of shite, so when/ if I can be bothered, I’ll change it to one of the new TomTom units.

Luggage - If you want soft luggage, You won’t do much better than Kriega. I normally use a US5 as a tank bag on trips, and a US10 for any nick naks. I’ve just ordered the new SW Mother Trax Ion, in black, which looks identical to the GSA top box, so will use that for trips away. For days out, I use a small Pelicase, bolted straight on to the rear rack.

Have to say that for my use a set of these would've done nicely for the price! Good price! And you can mix colors if you want to. Insulated interior. :blast

Only thing I'm not sure about is they say their panniers are designed to leave their mountings in a big crash....not sure about that one!

I should stop looking when I've paid for Bumot's.

Just fitted my Trax Ion top box today. Looks, and feels good.

There’s a guy called RichBMW on Advrider who has just fitted exactly the same top box but he’s parked his bike upright. Sensible guy. He’s also stacked his water upright as well. You need to meet him someday.

Does he balance a fridge on his pannier/top box too ??

Top case looks ok (Ive gone with the smaller Bumot one as I hope that'll do) but don't like that exhaust. Think the Akra needs to go back on.
