2012 triple black ADV. I've often wondered what these four markings are for on the right hand mirror. When I first had the bike I thought they were corrosion marks but on closer inspection they're etched in. Can anyone enlighten me?

It's to attract your attention away from the corrosion elsewhere on the bike.

On the glass, or on the plastic bezel?

On the glass it could be manufacturers marks to identify type of mirror, convex / concave LH / RH

heated / non heated / photochromic etc

On the Bezel could be injection gate points, or similar to identify mirror model / type

Nice one Neil. :D:D No corrosion...yet. One owner before me and the marks are on the glass.

Put your adventure wheels aside for the winter all coated up with Uber biker grade anti rust goo. Then come spring marvel at how far the paint has lifted as the dreaded ally worm got busy.

Maybe it’s to help the glue that holds the glass in place, stay put?
