Insurance for rare and modified bikes

I've got a KTM 690 RFR (Rally Factory Replica ex Dakar race bike) that's been extensively modified by Lyndon Poskitt for travel rather than racing. It's difficult to insure as most brokers think it's a 690 Enduro and value it as such. I have got it insured at present with Principal but wonder if anybody has any recommendations for a good specialist broker who will do an agreed value on a modified bike please?

It's a difficult one. One of my bikes is a heavily modified 650 Dakar so I went down then route of agreed value insurance a few years ago. All modifications were listed and photographed. I filled in a ton of forms and a value was agreed. The premium was almost treble the previous years insurance which I duly paid in full. Three months later they wrote to me to say they no longer agreed the value and would now also require an engineers report. If I didn't do that, they would revert to the non modified value. I found a couple of places and charges were between £100 and £120 for the report. The broker involved was Bikesure.

I didn't bother and in subsequent years have insured it with the major modifications listed. Best of luck.
