Bike has 635 miles on the clock. First service has been done. It’s a 2017 model and as pics shown on a 67.

Heated grips, quick shifter, electric suspension, adjustable screen, selectable ride modes.

Sadly bike is just not compatible

£11900 ovno.

Jim

Looks like it has the Ergo seats as Jim GLWS

So what is it about the bike he doesn’t get on with? I like mine but I’m not convinced that I shouldn’t have either stuck with my 1190 or bought a 1290 SAS though I’ll stick with it for at least a year.

I’d ridden one before buying mine but riding one for a short distance on roads I know and just pick the best points isn’t the same as the reality of riding it for several hundred miles in a variety of different conditions.

The riding position simply doesn’t suit him and he’s too wedded to his Adventure.

He ‘wants’ to like it very much as the power and performance are awesome but it’s just not for him. You know that feeling of “I’m not enjoying this?”

The bike is ostensibly brand new!!

I know exactly what he means. I think with me it’s changing from nearly 5 years of big ‘adventure bike’ style tourers having had a Multistrada followed by the 1190 and the riding position coupled with the style of riding needed to get the best out of it is taking me a while to gel with.

I’m sure I’ll be ok once I get it on an unknown road where it’s a case of point and squirt to use the power and the handling but right now I’m tempted to describe it as being a bit bland. Now that’s not something many riders would describe a1290 GT as being and I’ve no doubt that a few hundred miles away from roads I know will change my mind but if I was using it for a 30 mile each way commute I’d be bored shitless.

Sorry, I’m not helping sell the bike so I’ll say it’s just me and ignore my comments.

I had better not say I am in full agreement, only I did figure it out during the test ride.

For me at over 6 foot it was a shade cramped, and having abandoned sports bikes a decade a go a bit to stiffly sprung - when I was looking to get off sportsbikes all those years ago it would of been perfect, I even found the Adventure 1290S too harshly sprung / damped.
