Its renewal time and the renewal quote has come back at £270 with Carole Nash but after a battle I got it down to £220.
This for a 2006 R1200GS with BMW arm and the following declared;
Luggage, Adventure tank fitted, crash bars, aftermarket suspension, de-cat headers and Sargent seat fitted.
I've used the comparison sites I can insure the standard bike for around £110.
Can anyone suggest any insurers who don't get silly with the upgrades?

Footman James, helps if you're a member of classic bike club.

+1 for fj, list of 10 "modifications on my KTM1290SA, not an issue, was about what I paid them last year, CN were £200 more expensive for the same, and I almost lost will to live whilst they went back and forth to "underwriter" about the mods!! Got the very strong feeling they were attempting to pull my trousers down and bend me over, and therefore was not amazed at the quote!
ps they were using Ageas as insurer, who funnily enough also insure me via FJ!!

Renewal day,you know it's going to be the worst day of the year:blast
I had a few hours today trawling through quotes and small print.
As you say,you loose the will to live a bit.

Will try Footman James.
Anyone got experience of Be Moto insurance?

Try motorcycle direct, my RT is with them for sensible money.

Or Cornmarket in Belfast, I have the Bonnie and Suzuki with them, I’m under their IAM Surety scheme but they must do ex Civil Service Achemes too.

When I declared my modifications to Bennets they reduced the premium by £50.......(luggage, screen, headquards, exhaust can, datatag and fuelling spoofers)

LV. When I declared the basic Power Commander upgrade on my CCM GP450 they weren’t interested. They just recorded it as “engine modifications”.
