My 08 GS frame is looking a little worse for wear and I am after sprucing it up a bit. Am I right that Krylon 1403 (dull aluminium) is the right paint for the job? And if so, where can I get it, as I don't seem to be able to source any in the UK?

Is there a viable alternative that I can source in the UK?

Thanks

Mark

Yes Hammerite, silver or black, a few before and after photos :D

Get it hot metal zinc sprayed. It's next to galvanising for metal protection and will stop every bit of rust before it can creep under your nice new paint. The parts have to be shot blasted & then sprayed. The finish is a good paint key. Remove any larger nibs of metal spray, etch prime then prime with black primer and rub down. Any nibs will shine so you'll know where it may need a another waft of primer. Paint over with your finish and its job done.

Some powder coats can't handle the engine heat at the mounting points so Hammerite is a good option. At least today's formulation does not go brittle like the old stuff did.
