Hi guys.
I’m the chap responsible for this!! All the work is still done by the guys at hilltop through a computer at my workshop in Sligo. Drop me a pm here if you’re interested.
I can offer a 10% discount to anyone on here...prices vary a little by make but generally around €350 for BMW.. tea and biscuits are free!
Regards.
Enda.

Not Sure but I think BettySwollocks did

Hi Jay, yip, I got mie remapped in 2015 I think. Gary Donohue at Mototune.ie, Santry near Dublin Airport, so not the same person.

Bike set up on a dyno and definite difference in power delivery.

Bike is a 2010 GSA TC with flappy valve and Cat removed. Big improvement in power delivery and she runs sweet as.

A few friends with similar bikes have ridden it and have stated it is a different animal to theirs.

Sadly I closed my phoptobucket account, but can email a copy of my dyno chart to anyone who can post it here.

Pricewaise it was comparable to Hilltop. But being in Dublin was a great help.

A pal who is Traffic Corps in Dublin said that Gary had worked on all their Garda Bikes.

The official Garda bikes ? I'll be very surprised if that's the case.

How would this impact on your insurance ? .
Its Is a modification ,,right ,, ?

Topic pretty well covered here and elsewhere before I’d say!

My own opinion for what it’s worth is that it is a modification in the way that extra lights, luggage, engine bars etc are a modification / enhancement. If one felt it necessary to inform their insurance company of items like that I’m sure they would also want to mention a remap...

I dont believe it has been Covered , at least i havent seen it .
lights , luggage , engine bars , are on this style of bike usually a Original equipment fitment.
These would not fall under the same category as an engine remap ...
The reason i have asked now and not before is that in the UK , for commercial Vehicles , V.O.S.A. are now plugging into the ECU of commercials to assess whether or
not the engine management system has been changed from "Factory settings" this has resulted in several penalties being imposed.....

There is a couple of huge threads on Hilltop and if you have a few hours to spare, go search for them and it's all in there.

It's up to you if you declare it but I've not come across anyone who has.

Vehicles now use OBDII compliant data links and software has been generally standardised

VOSA cannot actually interpret the Engine ECU "programming" at the roadside but they can view Engine logs which will show is the vehicle has been driven differently than the card says

BMW were very canny when they chose their interface Its not an OBDII connector for a start and even when it is you cannot interpret the "programming" unless you have very specialised software as per Hilltop

And If I had it done (the reprogramming) I would be telling them (Insurance) that it was to correct a lean running issue ;) Which is the truth
