I’m coming to blighty in a week or so and wifey fancies a few days in the Cotswolds on our way up

Does anyone know any nice “typical” places to stay or things to see in the area?

I’ve seen a few manor houses but they’re too pricey for me

Looking more in the 100 quid a night range

Cheers :thumb2

If you fancy being in Cheltenham, there's a new Premier Inn right in the centre of Cheltenham or the former Big Sleep that is just around the corner from Wetherspoons if on a budget - seems to be https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel...Formerly_The_Big_Sleep_Hotel-Cheltenham_.html now.

Best Western have a few hotels in the area, some in towns, some rural in the sub £100 bracket. These are usually pretty reliable.

More traditional is https://www.tripadvisor.co.uk/Hotel...ridge_House-Cheltenham_Cotswolds_England.html right by the Triumph dealer. Easy walk into the posh bit around Montpelier for a choice of food.

Never been in here but a great location overlooking the racecourse to Malverns from Clee Hill - I drive past it all the time for work and keep thinking I should stop for a pint one day

There are loads more village inns with rooms under £100 and one of these would be my choice - as I live in Cheltenham I have little idea about what the accommodation is like.

What are you interested in? Gawping at scenery? Gloster Aviation history? Georgian architecture? Roman archeology? Ale? Cider? Wine? Michelin starred French gastronomy?

A really good mate of mine is in Cheltenham and is an Airbnb host, his properties are very nice, Jason is a nice guy, his wife Mel is French and head of French at some posh girls school, she’s a riot though

Watch out for RIAT though, that pushes a lot of prices through the roof.

If you like coach loads of Americans !!!!

Another good pub with rooms is The White Horse at Duns Tew.

Not exactly .slap bang in the middle of the Cotswolds but not far away.

I prefer the Japanese and Korean tourists that visit Bibury. DILF factor is higher, but not as good as Sennybridge.
