    Pillion footrest pivot pins

    Hi Nick, me again

Could you please either set aside or order me in two new "cotter pins" that mount the pillion footrests to the hangers on my 2017 GSA. I'll pick them up when I come in on the 10th August.

    Regards
    Bob Jeffries

    Hi Bob,

No problem, I do not have on the shelf but will order in for you on the 10th. Do you also want replacement securing clips for the pins? Just as a heads up, if you have not removed the pins as yet they are notorious for seizing into the hanger.

Let me know about the clips and will see you on the 10th.

    Kind regards

    Nick

    Hi Nick

Yes please, I'll have the clips as well.

Tell me about seized pins!! I got a pillion footrest lowering kit to make it more comfortable for my short arsed wife and have had to drill the original pins out, they were seized solid - no lubrication used at all during manufacturing! What has happened to BMW quality?

Warranty case for new pins & clips 😇

    Cheers

Steel (pin) reacting with Aluminium (housing) syndrome annoyingly and coupled with wet/salt (UK) seems to help the two weld themselves together. No warranty on this issue either as BMW class as a maintenance area

Clips on order and will be ready for you on the 10th also.

    Kind regards

    Nick
