Been looking at what to use and see people mention

Sw-motech bars - around £179
Wunderlich bars - around £229
Machine art X head protectors - £159

I’m thinking the Sw-motech but any others to consider and recommendations?

Thanks

I am in a similar situation, just acquired an r 9 t ,
I have opted for the bmw head guards in aluminium, second choice x heads,
Had an off a few years back on a tc gsa, same engine and they protected well, as the bars alone didn't stop all contact with the covers,
i may add bars later,

i have X head machine art ....not tried them yet and hope i never will

X-heads, unless you’re going off road. :thumb

Just bought X Heads from the forum. Hope I never need them. I read somewhere that engine bars can dig in and cause the bike to flip increasing the damage whereas it will slide on the headcovers.

Try these, unfortunately I’ve tested them, hardly a mark on them as I fell onto rocks, not tied them at speed tho, hopefully never will

Thanks, excuse my ignorance but which ones are those?

From BMW, fitted them as a quick temporary alternative to engine bars, had a fall down a rocky off road bridle path, when we eventually got the bike the right way up I expected them to be wrecked, hardly any damage, they must be reinforced with something internally. I had soft panniers bags on & between the bags & the protectors they took the fall pretty well.
