Thanks fellas had a great weekend in a beautiful city!! Can't believe you have a beach!!! Ate in wild ginger and boy does it deserve the highest praise. Lovely food, excellent staff and great beer. Ate in McGintys at the top of union st on Sunday night, again a great meal plenty of home cooked packing. Finally today we had lunch from Ross bakery on Chapel st, lovely fresh sarnies and sausage rolls!! My son will certainly enjoy his time in the city, couldn't think of any bad points. Thanks again for all your suggestion and we'll be back soon, maybe on the bikes!!

Good to hear that you both had a great time. Usually the weather isn't as good as it was this weekend, wait till we get another beast from the East!

Saying that, it's an hour to the Cairngorms, a couple of hour to get past Inverness, and as there's not as many sights, the roads tend to be quieter. If you want some ideas of what to look at, this site has some ideas: https://www.northeast250.com/ thankfully it doesn't mention the roads south of Huntly.
