I don't like the RT, the GS is "old man" enough for me but you know I don't ride it like an old man.
Next time I may go for the ADV version but unlikely because I like to throw it around a bit and the ADV is just too bulky for me, I think. I could compromise and return to spokes which would give me options, I suppose, in the future.
I didn't say the GS isn't a good offroader, what I am saying is that I am not able to offroad it; too big for both my lack of ability and lack of strength. Also, I have road-biased tyres fitted (and rims) and it would be a shame to damage the bike (or me) at the beginning of the trip when we have so far to go afterwards. As I'm the leader, I take my responsibilities very seriously.
If I had an ATAS, with A/T tyres, I would gladly join you, though. Unlikely!
