R1100GS SEAT LOCK Stuffed

Brains Trust... help please
The lock of my seat and tool box lid has given up the ghost. Both seat and tool box lid are locked in place , the key just spins and doesn't active the mechanism.
Of course I can't get to the allen bolts that hold everything in place...

Has anyone had this problem and come up with a solution? The old girl has in excess of 200,000 k's and this is the first issue that I've had ... so I really can't complain, but at the end of the month I'm off to Philip Island for the Australian round of Moto GP and I'm not comfortable not being able to access the battery and fuel lines should I need to.

if you can get a bit of wire in to pull one of the catches, they will both release as they are linked. once off you should be able to find out what’s come unlinked, or get the barrel out. sound like the cam has come off the connecting rod, shouldn’t be too difficult to fix or at least bodge something for your trip.
