After a bit of faffing about, I've settled on this, for the moment, as a way of mounting my old Nav IV on my XCountry. RAM handlebar clamp bolt ball replacing the bolt holding the Barkbuster backbone to the handelbar clamp and a short RAM arm and ball mount onto the Garmin cradle. When young Mr Ghiribizzo does his stuff with the electrics, I'll get it out on the road and add an update on how well it works in practice.

However, for the moment....

I used a mount off a F700GS

I picked one up off eBay secondhand including the special bolts , it needed a little modding as the fixing bolt centres were slightly different

Today's updated version...

RAM long arm fitted to get the GPS above the instrument panel and in behind the flyscreen.

Got to sort the electrics out for my GPS at some point, your mount is a bit more elegant then mine.

Mine has to be on the left as i have to lift my right arm up to the bars & dosent lift.
Perfect for my needs..

And the screens adds to protect if from the worst of the elements..

So....having sorted out the GPS mount, I thought I'd move on to giving it a bit more light. Purely for off-roading at night, you understand.....:D

Not the best image but I use the RAM mount into the steering head:

... needless to say I never bother looking at the speedo! :)
