Everywhere I dont really want to be...
Im currently in the market for an R45 or R65 for a bit of a project. At the same time Im considering upgrading my R80 with an R100 Powerkit from Siebenrock.

I notice Siebenrock also do a R860 kit for the R45. This got me thinking..

Can I use my “soon to be “surplus parts from the R80 to update the R46/R65 to an R80?

Just thought…

Firstly,if you are buying a machine to fit an 860 kit on you ideally need a post 81 650.
The 45 valves are way to small to make the conversion worthwhile,
The earlier 65 also has smaller valves than the late one.
The 80 barrels won’t fit afaik because the pushrod tubes will be at the wrong angle(but I’ve not tried it)
Also the 65 has the same/similar bore as an 80 anyway(short stroke),
So if you could make it fit it would be a fair amount of machining for little or no gain.
I can tell you that a 860/65 with post 81 heads will go very well:thumby:
