are all 1100 R's 5 speed? My reading suggests that they are and that the 1150 got 6 gears, but seen a 2000 advertised as 6 geared? true or false?

Yes, all 5 speed.
To the best of my knowledge you can't fit a six speed into a 5 speed casing and the 6 speed box won't fit on an 1100 engine.
Could just be a typo, you could try asking them what was done to convert it ?
