Wilbers set up

I’ve recently acquired a 2005 1150 GSA, with Wilbers front and rear. The blue spring with red adjusters. I’m finding the ride a bit harsh and bumps in the road seem to jar a bit more than I was expecting. The front end seems quite numb too, compared to a stock 1200gsa i recently tried. I’ve fiddled a bit between max and min rebound and can’t really tell much difference. Preload seems best around 50-75%. I’m 80kg and usually ride with a 60kg pillion and topbox.

Any ideas on what might make the ride a bit more plush us?

Someone will be on with a better answer than I can give, but if you want it sorted once and for all, it would be worth a trip to Revs in the West Mids (UK supplier of Wilbers) and they will sort it for you.

Get it serviced; would you expect engine oil to last as long ?

They need servicing every 2-3 years depending on mileage and all oil changing ... should be around £120 for each unit
