I’ve travelled to China 20-odd times on business, usually on an overnight flight. I’ve found that once I get to the hotel at around lunchtime a 1-2 hour sleep (no longer) works best for me, bearing in mind I can’t sleep on the plane.

I’ll then get up, go to the gym, have a few beers and a meal and go to bed at my normal 11pm and then wake up without an alarm at 6:30 as usual. I’m then fine all week.

It’s the return journey which gives me get lag when I fly through the day. An overnight flight seems to work better.
