Looks very interesting, like the Rallye colour scheme, although they haven’t fitted the motorsport coloured seat like the 1250. Could be my next bike, after a test ride. Interestingly it hasn’t got any fork adjustment, like the gs.
Also mentions adjustable screen, which looks tiny, so not sure how useful. Based on the F850 I’m expecting this to be the wrong side of £14K max’ed out. Personally I much prefer the look of the 800GSA.
I took the GS out the other week , and yep that screen is that small i dont actually see the point of it being there, also the non-adjustable forks near enough bottom out when you brake hard, and its also taller than the 1250 on the lowest height setting which is not aiming it well for the smaller riders like myself
And just like on the 800, those engine bars will do nothing to protect the radiator cowl or upper plastics in an off. It’s also lost one of the main benefits of the tank under the seat - the tank now splays your legs like the 1200GSA. Did I mention the colours choices? Yuck. In the plus side they only lost 1L from the tank so it should still have a stonking range.
Here you go JJH, you can compare directly with the GS1250 - 20 ltrs - 261 miles range, GSA1250 - 30 ltrs - 391 miles range and GSA850 - 23 ltrs - 348 miles range.
I know those meaningless figures. Most bmw motorcycles in my experience take more fuel than the stated amount. My f800st stayed 16 liter capacity I could easily fit 17.5. My 2009 gsa stated 33 liters and I usually put 36 liters in. My f 800 gsa stated 24 and I could put 27 in. My 12 gs could hold more than stated it think 21.5 as far as I can remember. My rt held about 2 liters more than stated with a filler neck modification. I was just wondering what the real world capacity of the new bikes would turn out to be. Time will tell. JJH
gsman, where did you get the prices from? They sound reasonable, but depends on what’s included in the TE specs (i.e TFT etc). Will definitely have a test ride, could be an option later next year.
