Hi all,

my now 40k f800gs is sick again :blagblah - i know, right??

the issue now is; whenever I go past 4300 rpm, the bike will start idling very badly- bag of nails bad, with the smell of fuel, as almost like it is running on the single cylinder? - as soon as I turn the ignition off, and on- start the bike again, all is good again until ill rev her past 4300. Now to overcome this, i im not reeving bike past 4000-4300 rpm, however it needs to be fixed.
I do not have diagnostic, but im leaning towards; TPS could be culprit here?
Anyone had similar issue or could maybe tell me what else it can be?

cheers

jo

It could be a multitude of things. Maybe you need to bite the bullet and book in at your local Motorrad dealer for a diagnostic plug in.
Or find an independent that maybe able to help.
Or a fellow in mate on here with a GS911 they’ll let you use in exchange for some beer/fuel/whatever.

Where are you? I have a GS911 and I am in Hertfordshire.

Had the same sort of thing, check the coils and plugs.

Water was getting down the coil/plug tubes and sitting in the bottom, corroded the plug and was shorting the coil. making it drop the cylinder.

Mine was easy fix, new plugs and plumber grease around coil seals to stop water ingress, 3 year not a peep out of it.

hi guys, thanks for replies.
seahorse, any chance i can ride to yours this weekend?

cheers
