Exhaust Recommends for 1290

I think that around £560 delivered for a good sounding exhaust is very good.

Having seen & heard Nutty's wings exhaust on his SA, I'd say they're superb value for money & the build quality is first class.

I do like the finish too, the fact that you get two dB baffles to suit sound output you prefer, is a nice touch. Unlike with other manufacturers, where you get all or nothing.

My new favourite pipe, I asked the guy what it was and he said it's a cut down Yoshi ~ easily the best looking exhaust I've yet seen on a big KTM :)

Think i will look for good deal on used, or stick with standard one. Don't mind size too much, just the way they tarnish and attract dirt.

Just get the stock can powdercoated or ceramic coated then :thumb

If you want loads of cheaper options and aren’t bothered by CE markings, take a look on AliExpress.com

You will be well pleased, not long fitted mine and very happy great finish & nice touch with 2 baffles.

Of all I have seen the Arrow looks by far the best, many others just look a bit unfinished around where the join the downpipes.

The one thing stopping me is that they all need re-packing at some point, I assume this is why the OE cans are always so much bigger, as they are designed in a way that requires zero maintenance.

The last end can I bought new sounded great at first but within a few months became much louder, and as I do 6-7k a year I do not want to be having to rip the exhaust apart a couple of times a year to keep it sounding sweet / stop the neighbours complaining. The second hand Arrow I bought for my Super Tenere was extremely loud, I could not believe it was road legal, I nearly blew my ex-racer buddies ear drums out, he said "F*** me, I have never had a race bike that loud!"

As you say, OE cans are bigger because they work on a labyrinthine system of pipes inside - no maintenance. Aftermarket cans are generally just a perforated tube with fibreglass wool for sound deadening.

I seem to remember seeing something on the Wings site about repacking their cans, but I have never done mine. I have never even heard of anyone repacking a can. Mine's done 24K now, and sounds fine to me. I've not asked the neighbours :)

Ta dahhhhh!

It arrived two days early!
