GARELLI TIGER CROSS

I started the 'rebuild' today. The parts are all back so i am going to do a 'dry' build first, so the first job is to tap out all the powder coat in the bolt holes. I got the swing arm on, that was a long winded job as the powder coaters got coating inside the frame where the swing arm bushes fit, so i had to file them out! Rear shocks (I do plan to replace the springs at least as they look rough), drifted in the head races and put the front forks together plus the steering stem.

I will do a few more photos when i get back to it, probably Wednesday now, but for now here a few pics to enjoy!

So, we are very nearly there. I have just received the new wheels spokes, and i have 2 new s/s wheel rims. I am going to do the wheels myself. Just chasing up a couple of rear springs, paint the rear shocks now they are stripped, new chain/sprockets, re-cover the seat and that's it!!!

A few more photos here...

Great work - looking forward to hearing the ring-a-ding-a-ding of the powerful motor!

Love the bike stand - made from an office chair base or was it a bar table?

Thanks for sharing the journey so far.

Tank is done. Had it professionally sprayed of course, decals now fitted, another piece of the jigsaw in place...

Seat is done. Couldn't resist fitting it up, looks good! Jobs left to do..

Paint and build rear shocks
Strip wheels, polish hubs, fit new rims and spokes
Strip, paint and re-fit footrests
Fit pedals

And we're done i think!!

Only the other day I was wondering what was happening with this little beauty.

Weren't they timeless little things - they always looked good and still do.

Fab !!...:)

Right, wheels are done. Spent a day on each one, its very time consuming but also very satisfying when they are true'd up.

I bought a lathe a while back and mounted the hubs on it to clean and polish them up, i could have made a mirror finish job on them but didn't want to go that far, i prefer the 'used but clean' look...

I have started painting the shock absorber parts, I've had the springs re-chromed, so i am pleased that its all original!

A new front tyre O/O so later in the week it should be about done!
