GS and GSA tank shape

I think I know the answer to this but I'd like to confirm.
Are the tanks a different shape on the GS version and GSA version of the same year? I.e. will a 2008 GSA tank bag fit on my 08 GS?

They are different shapes but the tank bags will work on both. Pretty sure I have a GSA tank bag on my 2009 GS and it works fine

As best I can tell, the early hexhead GS tank bag fits all GSA tanks. The later (2007?) GS tank needs a different bag. The genuine BMW bag I had on a 2006 model GS would not fit a 2010 GS.
