I went to this event at the weekend. The Midlands section of the BMW Club had made arrangements for free camping to those who volunteered to display their bikes and assist at the marquee.
I took the 'Lego Bike'....see if you can spot it...:D

Although it turned out that the yellow ( which was actually near luminescent in real life ) was actually a kind of shrinkwrap coating that could be peeled off at trade in time.

I liked the inspiration behind the idea...

You`ll see there`s a huge alternator on the front of it...well,it`s actually a generator,or dynamo,as it is putting out Direct Current.

At 110 volts.....

.....and 340 Amps at full load...

So naturally, the terminals were fully insulated and out of reach.....

It`s hard to think that there was a time when nearly all machinery
put out 'clag' like these here...imagine all houses and factories, all railway locomotives and lots of road traffic belching it out, every day....
Apparently,it is the reason for the nasally sound of the Scouse accent (and Brummie),from the high concentration of industry near to dwellings....

Not,of course,that I`m a Scouser...living as I do on the Wirral...;)

I almost pity anyone daft enough to shunt this,as the edge of the 'wings' were like razors...not exactly CE approved....

As per the BMF Rally,Saturday tea time saw a bit of rain, notice the ever so slightly leaden clouds approaching....
However,it did pass, and a barbeque was provided by Martin Ellis, of the Midland section.

And finally, the Quote of the Weekend goes to Dennis (1200 GS )...

We were both chatting, and noticed a tall, long haired, straggly bearded biker approaching, looking for all the world like a leather clad Catweazle....

Dennis (to me)...'German or Dutch ??'

Me...'Not too sure,good question,could be either.'

Catweazle...'Eyup'

Dennis...'Fecking Derbyshire !!!'

Catweazle ( MOST indignant )...'Fecking Leicester actually'

:beerjug: :beerjug: :D :D :D
