The Ridgeway and Feeders (between Streatley and the A34)

Spent a few hours on the Ridgeway - since the Ridgeway isn't really a single "track" and has numerous "feeders" I'm going to post details/photos on a single thread, with a Mapsource file of tracks at the end.

BTW the final score was 1 fall and 1 submission to the Ridgeway :D

Well, I can understand why you might think that, but I was on my own ;)

The Submission was where I missed a turnoff - the Byway actually went off the "main" track to an unlocked gate - I followed what I though was the main track and ended up going down a very steep hill, up the other side along the edge of some crops and then ran out of track part way down another hill - I didn't have a lot of room to turn so had to spend a while manhandling the 1200 so I could scarper back the way I came, as fast as possible before the farmer took an interest :D

Notes: SU493793 is an unsignposted exit from the A34 onto the Byway which also continues West under the A34 (not recorded today). Up a slight incline - grass/mud with narrow ruts. SU496799 is a crossroads with a RUPP.

Notes: Concrete road with some large (avoidable) potholes. Shown on Mapsource as Churn Road. Ends up in Compton village - turn left for a pub "Compton Swan"

Notes: Long straight track - Grass/Mud/Chalk with some wide/deep ruts. Between Gallops - various signs at the "Woodway" end indicating private gallops. Nasty (avoidable) mudhole approx 1/2 way along. A burnt out Range Rover and some other car as a decorative feature.
