Welcome to the R1200GS technical FAQ.

The idea behind this document is to collect into a single place all the technical wisdom that people have posted to these boards over time. As new information is discovered, it will be added to the FAQ, so this will always be something of a work in progress.

The FAQ is divided into five parts, these being:

1: Servicing - things you need to know to perform regular maintenance
2: Fine tuning - setting up the bike to your liking
3: Third party accessories - fitting and using
4: DIY - how to make your own add ons
5: Misc - anything else
