Just like London buses they are. You wait for ages for an update DVD to arrive and then two come at once. So if you need one, I've got a spare. Drop me a pm if you're in need!

It's two different discs with two different set of maps and separate unlock codes. I have both on my computer.PanEuropean said:I have no idea how Garmin identifies the two versions, or even if there are, in fact, two different discs in circulation. It is entirely possible that there is only one disc, and it has both versions on it, and the installation program on the disc is smart enough to take note of what model of GPSR the cartography is being installed on, and select the appropriate files.

Right. One very good reason is that full post code search is ONLY available with the new NT map.PanEuropean said:So - because there is no cost difference between conventional and NT cartography, it's probably a pretty good idea to make sure you are installing NT on the newer units that support it.
Let me get this straight. Does that mean that I could install "NT" cartography on a 2610 and use it with no problems, but wont get the "traffic message broadcasts".PanEuropean said:The very new GPSRs (27xx, 7xxx, and others that support traffic message broadcasts) need the 'NT' cartography, because they can't plot the traffic event on the screen with the conventional cartography. They will work OK with conventional cartography, but they won't support the traffic function.
