MonoLever register - Your PHOTOS please

I wondered about that but it has the original tyrpe pressure stickers and stuff on it.
Should it be white?

Just reving you up Trippy. It's lovely bike :thumb

Mick Barr told me (he was the Leicester BMW dealer though the 80s) that the Paris Dakars initially came as a kit, you bought a standard bike and the Paris Dakar kit and the dealer fitted it for you. People chose what parts they wanted fitting and took the other bits away thats why the Paris Dakar models are such a mismatch of parts. Phil Hawksley doesn't have different engine/chassis numbers listed for the Standard and Paris Dakar models http://www.bmbikes.co.uk/chassispages/enginechassis800.htm it would be nice to know the full story. I think towards the end of the G/s production run they did what they did with the 1150 and the GSA and only produced the bike as a Paris Dakar. Mine is a July 87 bike with a white rear mudguard and what appears to be black fork legs under the silver that been aerosoled over the top - Hopefully somebody will post the full story at some point.

still out and about lovin it:bounce1

:confused:I can't decide .
Apologies to anyone who replied to my previous thread, but my computer has been playing up.
I can't decide if i should sell this bike or not,or if i decide to sell should i let it go with the big tank, panniers, higher gear diff etc or sell those seperately.
If anyone is interested let me know what you are prepared to pay with or without extras and i will make my mind up.

Home made aluminium 36l tank,panniers,flyscreen,bashplate.
Upside down rear brake arm for more clearence.
32/10 final drive (very rare) or standard 37/11

Do mono's from across the pond count? Here is my latest acquitition, replacing a '93 R100GS.... much work has been done, and much more planned!

DSC04661.jpg

It's an early US bike, serial number 2131

hi solo ,welcome,of course they count:)
hey is that fuel tank empty for this pic?the front wheel is still in the air!

lol, yes it was. That was from my first ride on this one. It had been laid up for 3 or so years in a garage... 19,019 original miles at purchase and perhaps the neatest original thing is the sticker on the sidecover... the first owner bought it for the right reasons is seems!

Restored R80G/S...

Just about everything's been done. It's my fourth so I hope to keep this one for a very long time. It's identical to my first, an '83, A45KWR, where are you now? I've since been through an '84 and a '96 Basic Kalahari which was rubbish.

Here's some updated photos of my little project G/S :D

I don't really know in which direction the project will go. Still thinking about making it more touring-friendly with a KTM adv fairing and a 43L HPN tank. On the other hand it's quite fun to ride in this simple and "light weight" configuration

1986 R80g/s

Here's is my R80g/s..fully re-built ( you name it, it HAS been replaced )
A wonderful credit to the last owner who has re-built her to an amazingly high standard..this is what a 1986 R80g/s looked like when it left the factory ( apart from sensible mods ie brake line etc)!!

Look and weep :augie
