On your way across to Achill Island please be aware that this is high season for road dressing here in Ireland. This high tech application results in lots of loose chippings laying on the road for stretches of up to 2km and invariably right on the line you would be taking on a bend. :eek: Be vigilant and careful.

The campsite which is situated to the rear of the hotel is the local football club's pitch. Therefore campfires will not be allowed on the field.
The fee for camping, all of which will go to the local club, will be €5 per tent per night. See Mandy on site.

Evening meals will be served in the hotel at 8pm nightly in the hotels function room.

We have received some GS related goodies to raffle on the Saturday night. Mandy and TrevmcDev will be selling tickets in the bar. All proceeds will be going to charity.

Should the need arise, Jockser and I can be contacted at the following mobile numbers;

Finally............

Anyone attending a ‘Ride Out’ or ‘Event’ organised through the UKGSer Forums does so at their own risk.
UKGSer.com or anyone organising an event posted here will not be held responsible in any way for damage or personal injury sustained while attending any such events.

One more wee thing.....................money.

There are not many cashpoints in the area of the hotel or on the Friday or Saturday rideouts.

It is advisable to stop in Castlebar or Westport on your way over and withdraw enough cash to cover you for the weekend. There is also a cashpoint within a shop in Newport, but it is often devoid of money.

You will have no problems paying for petrol etc by credit card, but you will need cash to hand over the weekend.

Some additional info for youse :

Anyone camping (or 'tenters' as James Burton wants them to be known ;) ) will need to buy 'meal vouchers' from reception. It just means you can pay for all your meals at one time with a credit card, rather than trying to dig out the correct amount at each meal ;) ;)

Also, there is a drink-link (cash machine ;) ) across the bridge from the hotel in Sweeney's. Its currently kaput but it should be fixed by close of business today :clap There is also another one in Keel which will be visited on Aidan's Friday & Sunday 'Island' run :D Failing that the hotel will give 'cash back' on Laser cards - unfortunately they are unable to process Switch cards :(

Finally, anyone phoning me from a UK mobile will need to dial 00353863888898 :D

Have a safe journey everyone & we'll see youse soon :beerjug:

There is a ATM machine in the shop/Post office in Keel.....but get there early cos it gets emptied quite quick...... :thumb
