Folks,

This looks as though it is going to be a sleepless night.

Here are (hopefully) five pictures from today's Borders run.

I'll add more later if this works.

See you got the hang of it then

Curses . . The truth is out.

And I've been telling people that I am an IT Development Specialist just to impress them.

Yup, I'm getting there.

Still trying to work out the best combination of DPI and picture dimensions while getting to grips with Adobe Photoshop.

It takes up a lot of time doesn't it. :clap

Here's a few photos for you :thumb

Most of them seem to be looking over the Firth of Forth :D

Yes to that, I'm sorry I missed it, it looks like people had a great time. I had a fine time in Szczecin but on balance I think a day out with a bunch of tossers might have been more fun.

Right then Dr Ken - Where would you like to go, and when ?

I think this is the cue for a new thread.

If we start spinning one, others will hopefully join in.

The truth is that sitting on top of the Lammermuirs, whichever individual hill it was - Chris will tell you - everywhere you looked there was sunshine. Across the Forth, sunshine. Looking east toward the coast, sunshine. West, a wee bit off maybe, but sunshine. And looking south, a good bit, there was sunshine. The only place to the naked eye that one could see cloud, was where we had come from, where we were, and where we were going. As someone better than me once said: the sun shines on the righteous and the unrighteous just the same.
Good photo's though to all who took. And you better watch out mr V, you could end up with a job taking all these pictures like that - well done. :thumb

Forry's frames

Hi Forry, Your images seem to be posted differently to those from Voyager. How are you doing that? Is there a known link on the forum? Are these stupid questions that have been asked a thousand times before?

It looks as though there is some interest building for another run - how are you fixed in the coming weeks ?

I have an urge to try some of the little 'white' roads in the Kintyre peninsular. That requires an early start though (no problem for me, I am often on the road at 03:00 - heading to events in the warm South).

:mmmm

I'm certainly up for another trip. White roads as in map white yes but I really don't fancy unknown snowy roads with an 1150 and an overweight unfit rider, i.e. me! (l suppose that I should do something about me and enjoy my riding more.)

What about the area South Of Argyll Forest Park. You can catch the ferry from Gourock/Greenock to Hunters Quay/Dunoon. It's a great area west towards Loch Fyne. I don't have OS maps of the area so don't know what minor routes are there.

Packer,

I am a paid-up Sponsor and use the "Manage Attachments" option.

It gives larger pictures so that the "Tossers" can see the detail.

I must try reducing the picture size down further and then interspersing them with text via the Picture icon on the reply screen.

I must also check that I have painted out all the number plates - I missed a couple in the shadows !

Voyager.

Packer,

That is roughly the area where I was thinking of going (if you are a crow).

I was thinking of meeting up at the "Green Welly" at Tyndrum at 08:30 (when the coffee is available), then going west along the A85 to Loch Awe. Left down the A819, then right along the "dotted yellow B840" on the East/South side of the Loch.
We can then return along the North/West side of the Loch and detour to Kilmelford and onto the A816 in search of food. The return run could be via a different route.

I know the "Green Welly" and the road to Oban and the North - the southern bit is new to me.

Like to detail your alternative route ?

(We should really start a new thread for this - or is this the start of two runs over the Festive Season ?).

Voyager.

Hmmm well Perthshire might be nice? Saturday 9th December?

Voyager,

Can I suggest that you do indeed start another thread with the "New Ride Out" that you and Dr Ken are discussing. Folks might miss it on this thread :thumb

Cheers,
Ronno

Hmm could be interesting. I have just started a new thread for a December Ride Out discussion.
