also, this fuse box appears to be dangling, there is also a plug, and a wire that is broken, any ideas where they go,
<a href="http://photobucket.com/" target="_blank"><img src="http://i40.photobucket.com/albums/e239/shiredeon/Picture005.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket - Video and Image Hosting"></a>
many thanks.

also, the front chassis part that holds the screen and supports the tank is bent,
it's not that rigid so may straighten, i wondered if it was the sam as the 1200gs,
anyone know ?.

"there is a scuff on the forkleg, should this rotate"
It will if you take the front wheel out :eek

it looks like the upper part is seperate, i wondered if it would rotate independent of the lower part, cheers.

No sorry :(

front bits the same as the 1200 and is the gps plug still taped to the head stock ?

can i if i remove the wheel position it with the scuff at the back, ie can it be revolved in any position,?cheers

sorry, don't understand.are you saying you can't see the pics, i can see them ok, can anyone else see them,

Hiya Shire, im prety certain that the leg wont be able to be rotated to hide the scuff. i fink the bottom wheel support thingy is rigidly fixed to the tube:(
As for the loose connector, might sound daft but just stretch it as far as you can to find out the limits as to where the mating part could be.
ie if its only a short cable at the front of the bike , the other connector isnt going to be at the back of the bike
looks like you still got a bit of work to do :(

thanks dazco, i think i was getting it muddled up with a normal fork leg, the last time i worked on a bike, the gear change was in the right place, ie on the right,
and indicators weren't invented, i think i've got some catching up to do,cheers.

Does anyone know where that fuse box fits and the location of the plug and wire?.

I know that bike.................... :D

Is the mileage 387 miles or thereabouts :nenau

The lock around the Pannier rail gave it away and the forkleg mark too

PM me if you want the details ( you have to be a sponser)

If it is the frame that holds the oil cooler as well then it is different sorry

ok, it's fairly flimsy so should straighten easy enough, and if anyone out there fancys having a go they can have for the same money as i paid,
oh and high johnnyboxer, yep that's the one.

I wouldnt worry too much about the fork, I think that section is pretty much completely covered by the front beak, but I can't be 100% sure.

I'm guessing that a good repair job shouldn't really be noticed.

Not sure what the connector is, but it isnt the GPS adapter and the top of the yoke, looks more like a plug than a socket.

I'm not sure what you are going to do tank wise, but a good improvement on the bike would be to try and raise the snorkel somehow, cos the position it is in is just stupid and low... IMHO. Also have a look inside the air box, the and see if you can do anything to rise the breather pipe above the air intakes, that should prevent water ingress into the engine in the event of water in the airbox.

Nice off btw, happy to help, but not keep on taking the project on at that price ;)

i have sourced most parts so it's not going to stand me in at too much, the tank is ok, it's depends if i want it functional or imaculate, i'm not sure wether to fit adv or gs engine bars to it.

Don't bother with bars unless you really need too

Here's a pic from the incident
