That looks like a real nice trip. :) Your pics makes me want to go next year, but I'll be too skint as usual.

You didn't keep a gps tracklog did you? :augie

Quality photos of what looks like a great trip, weather looked great for this time of year, thanks :thumb2

Nice pics Dave !

Was this the trip lead by Chris Evans ?

I was originally on it but had to cancel months ago due to various commitments.

Dave,

the pictures look fantastic. Having just updated to a 1200 GSA like yours I would like to do a trip like this.

However having done very little real one off road, while I am happy on the tarmac on the continent I do wonder if my current lack of off roading skill would be a problem.

Could you add a bit more detail. Have you done much off road before, how did the 1200 handle the route any pointers you could give someone who follows in your footsteps.

Cheers
Chris

Hi Chris, Thanks for the nice comments.
I am crap at off road! I did the level one course at Wales (very good) but that was my only experience. I did have the fortune of meeting 'MickDB1' from Chesterfield who gave me a days off road training in Derbyshire to lift my confidence.

Most of the off road was easy fire road trails, with the odd bit of more technical climbs and desents. The route had been designed for GSers. I just took it dead steady and never felt out of my debth. There was about 10 1200GSA's on the trip.

With 16 bikes on the trip we were able to find riding partners of similer pace / ability. I was dead lucky to team up with fellow gsers, smiler, the happy pilgrim and gscol who really added to the enjoyment of the trip.

I would suggest you book in for a level one course at 'off road skills' on a 1200 and see how you get on. To be fair, if i can do it i would of thought 98% of fellow gsers could! :thumb2

Hi Whatton,
I do have the route books, you are welcomed to a copy, pm me your address.
You may need to take GScol and Happy Pilgrim with you as i would proberly be still doing day one if it wasent for them!:augie

The weather was fab all week which made the clay trail climb out of the desert dead easy (thank the great GS lord!)

Nice one Dave.
Thank's to all those tossers out there who made it top fun with plenty of smiles.:thumb

Posting Pictures

hi all great photos, would like to post some aswell but how did you do it?:blast

Hi Smiler,
You need to go to the catorgory 'The Font of All Wisdom' there you will find a sticky on how to post photo's.

It is a bit long winded but you first need to 'down size' the file size of each picture to below 120kb. You can do this using photo shop software or on Vista you can do it using the 'e mail photo' option and then copying the file to a photo folder.
You can then upload 5 pics using the add attachment option on the post (paper clip icon)
If you want to add more then 5 pics you need to store the pictures at 'Photo Bucket' website (link from this site under links) then you insert the picture address on the post - its actualy easier than it seems:eek:

Looking forward to seeing your pics:clap

well here goes my first attempt at adding some pics.
