I fitted the final drive from a 1100R to my 1150GS a few years ago to make the bike better to ride at slow speeds.
As you will know the 1100R doesnt have the llower rear guard bolted on to it like the 1150GS does.
Today I bought a secondhand housing cover 3311233035 as fitted to 1100GS and 1150GS which will enable me to fit the lower rear guard
Last year I fitted a new large bearing and seal to the 1100R final drive and just replaced the bearing using the existing shims.
I want to remove the bearing and seal from the 1100R housing and fit them to the 1150GS housing as they have done sod all mileage.
Is this doable without causing to much damage and can I use the same shims out of the 1100R or am I best to shim it up as per the manual.
