Problem with Garmin safety camera data

After over 50 hours of downloading and 200 miles driving to try other computers I eventually (or rather a friend with a faster connection) managed to get my map updated. Flushed with success we tried to update the Safety camera database as my New machine has files from 2008. It would only allow me to update one and not all of Europe, despite this being what I bought. It did update the file but now says it cant unlock it so I have NO French camera database working. There is both the poi GPI file present and a small UNL (Unlock) file. But it wont go.
Anyone got any Ideas?

I have emailed Garmin again because now every time I try to reload the file their downloader crashes with a runtime error. But so far I have not received ANY response from Garmin to ANY of my emails over the last 5 weeks and two machines. They simply do not seem to have any form of after sales service.

I have to say this Garmin has been the worst consumer product I have ever bought. Even when it is updated, it wont work properly because it simply does not know half the places I have tried to find on it. I have to have the waypoints to navigate to many places as the smaller towns and villages are not in its supposedly detailed map of Europe. I wish I had bought a tom tom or Viamichelin, because all the places Garmin does not know, they do.

i have noticed the garmin data base is a bit "special" with regard to inputing names that have st. the road sign says st but in garmin it is saint or sankt

you learn how to work it after a while....

run time error is nothing to do with garmin - its a fault on your computer.

how about calling them instead of email???

I have already learned how to get around the permutations of St. some names need spaces between the words, some hyphens. Usually it is easier to look up a map and route it to somewhere nearby then search 'near' for the place you want.
Many names though are missing altogether. try finding the villages of "le gros chataignier" or "pussy" (in France).

However my immediate problem is it has deleted the 2008 radar files my "new" Garmin came with and installed files that it can't unlock.

I did ring them and after about three quarters of an hour wait on an international call he just advised me to try reloading again. This after two 17 hour downloads had failed at about 14 hours each. It is why I made three 60 mile round trips to a friend to down load from there as she has a connection twice my speed and after failing three times at around six hours we finally managed to get all of the 9 hour download. Sadly I then made the mistake of trying to update the radar POI's and they are now unusable.
