Zumo 500 deluxe and 1150

Quick question, any problems connecting the zumo 500 deluxe (same as 550) directly to the battery?
The GPS is not going to be used / left on the GPS apart from my weekend rides, will I have any kind of problems if I am connecting the mount directly to the battery?

Depending on the way that mount is set-up and if your bike is parked outside or or stored wet you might have an issue with electrolytic corrosion on the contacts over an extended period of time.

I have a similar set-up with my StreetPilot but have a switch in the line to guard against this.
