My 1200GSA has Castrol Power1 Racing 4T 10W-50 in it. Bloody expensive and it is using a bit! It is fully synthetic but what can I use for toppingup? must it be the same? or at least must it also be fully synthetic? moving on when it is due its next change what is a alternative to this stuff. I think i paid about £15 or £16 for a litre at a main dealer a few weeks back.... Help???:comfort

HG has some 10 50 fully synth stuff - 20 quid for four litres.

All modern 'mainstream' oils are fully miscible - i.e. can be mixed, so feel free to top-up with anything suitable. The only exception is oil which is castor-based and you are unlikely to find that in a high-street outlet.

In terms of 'what should I use', RTFM or search on here. It has been done to death for the past umpteen years.

You could try asking gsrichie :thumb

(Unless of course you're a banker or similar :augie)

Try opie oils.

My dealer told me they use putoline as Castrol is so expensive, and to just top up with that. I was advised 20w-50 semi-synthetic, but then mine's a 2010 GSA :thumb2
